How to Set Up a Googly & Bright Holiday Countdown

Quick answer

Set up your Googly & Bright Holiday Ornament Countdown Calendar by hanging the 12 googly-eyed wooden ornaments on your tree or wall, one each day starting December 14th, for a uniquely snarky Christmas countdown.

Step-by-step setup

1. Unbox and inspect: Open the calendar box and verify all 12 ornaments are present. Lay them out in order by day (1 through 12) to avoid confusion later. Check for any broken ornaments before starting—wood can chip during shipping.
2. Choose your display spot: Decide whether to hang the ornaments on a Christmas tree, along a mantel, or on a wall using removable hooks. Ensure the location is visible and accessible for daily hanging. Avoid placing them near pets or children who might knock them down—googly eyes are fun but fragile.
3. Start on December 14th: Hang ornament #1 on December 14th, then add one ornament each day through December 25th. If you prefer a longer countdown, you can start earlier, but the set is designed for 12 days. Don’t skip days—each ornament has a unique design, and missing one breaks the surprise sequence.
4. Store for reuse: After Christmas, carefully remove the ornaments and store them in the original box or a padded container. Keep them dry to prevent wood warping. Label the storage box with the year so you remember to pull it out next December.
