Quick answer
For pool parties, choose a floaty pen set with sealed construction and message-changing novelty pens. The Brass Monkey sets offer both water resistance and conversation-starting designs.
Why floaty pens work for pool parties
Standard pens sink, stain, or get ruined around water. Floaty pens are designed to be used in damp environments, making them a natural fit for poolside games, scoring, or signing waivers. Their novelty factor also adds to the party vibe.
What to look for in a pool party pen
Focus on three things: water resistance (sealed ink), buoyancy (so they don't sink), and entertainment value (message changes that surprise guests). Avoid pens with paper labels or unsealed caps that can leak.
How to choose your floaty pen set
- Check the seal: Look for pens with a sealed ink chamber or a tight cap. This prevents water from ruining the ink when pens get splashed or dropped in the pool.
- Look for novelty features: Pens with moving words or changing messages (like the Brass Monkey sets) provide entertainment and become a topic of conversation at parties.
- Consider the set size: A set of two is typically enough for a small group. For larger parties, buy multiple sets so everyone can join in without waiting. If your party has more than 10 people, order two or more sets.
